Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us.
Galatians 3v13

God our maker and creator has given us good and holy laws to live by. The curse of the law is the penalty breaking those laws deserves, something we all have done (Rom. 3v23). Our wages, what we have earned for breaking God's laws is physical, spiritual and eternal death (Rom 6v23).

God in love and mercy has provided a way we can be redeemed, delivered from the curse of the law, the penalty for breaking it. It is by Christ, the sinless God the Son being made a curse for us. On the cross Jesus bore the curse, the penalty breaking God's law deserves on the behalf of all who believe on Him. Death by crucifixion was despised by the Jews and reserved for the worst of criminals by the Romans. Amazingly Jesus freely gave Himself to the death of the cross to bear the penalty all the sins of all that believe on Him deserves.

"In my place condemned He stood,
Sealed my pardon with His blood;
Hallelujah! What a Saviour!
Was it for sins that I had done
He groaned upon the tree?
Amazing pity! Grace unknown!
And love beyond degree!”Isaac Watts
