On two occasions Martha got very hot and bothered with Jesus, feeling He had made mistakes. On the first occasion it was as she prepared a meal for Jesus and feels upset because Jesus is not telling her sister Mary to help her. Martha says to Jesus, "Lord, dost Thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone" (Luke 10 v 40). Jesus has to correct her and make her realise that Mary wasn't being lazy but taking this wonderful opportunity to be taught by Him which was so necessary.
The next occasion when Martha gets worked up as if Jesus had made a mistake was when her brother Lazarus died. She feels that if Jesus had come earlier this wouldn't have happened. Martha says to Jesus, "Lord, if Thou hadst been here, my brother had not died" (John 11 v 32).
Both times Martha learnt that as followers of Jesus, often we don't understand what He is doing. The first time it was important for Mary to be taught by Him. On the second occasion it was important for Lazarus to die and be raised again for the glory of God. You see in fact what Jesus does in the lives of those saved by Him is because the glory of God is vital and because He does care for us. We may go through things in our lives feeling Jesus has made a mistake or doesn't care for us, that's never the case. When we look back as believers, we often realise He didn't make a mistake and He did care for us. However even if we still feel Jesus made a mistake or hasn't cared for us, there is coming a time when we will know that wasn't the case. Jesus said "What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter" (John 13 v 7).
