Come

One of the most remarkable things in the word of God is Christ inviting sinners to come to Him. In Matthew 11 v 28 Jesus says, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Christ has done everything necessary for sinners against God to be saved. All the difficulties in the way of the salvation of a sinner, Christ having dealt with them, calls upon us to come to Him for salvation.

All that is needed for your salvation is that you come to Christ in repentance and faith. God says in Isaiah 45 v 22 "Look unto me, and be ye saved." Jesus speaking of a spiritual thirst for salvation says in John 7 v 37, "If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink."

We are all weighed down with the burden of our sins, but Christ calls upon us to come to Him and find rest for our souls. There is nothing to be done by us but come to Christ for salvation. The difficulty preventing your salvation is found in your own sinful heart. The reality is that if you eternally perish, it is because you would not come to Christ. Is Jesus saying to you, "Ye will not come to me, that ye might have life." (John 5 v 40).
