We'll Meet Again
We have just had the 75th. anniversary of the victory in Europe in the 2nd World War. The above is the title of a song written in 1939 that was made famous by Dame Vera Lynn. The lyrics resonated with so many people who were separated during the war. Today during the coronavirus crisis these lyrics once again have meant a lot to people who haven't been able to be together.
Believers in Christ aren't able to be physically together to worship God, and presently we don't know exactly when that will be. However, the Lord's people know that we will in future days meet again to physically together worship God. In the song it says, "We'll meet again don't know where, don't know when." Ultimately believers in Christ know that isn't true because God has revealed to us when and where we shall all meet again. We are told when Christ comes again we shall meet in a new heavens and earth wherein dwells righteousness (1 Thessalonians 4 v 16, 17).
When I think of all the believers in Christ who have died who I have known, it's such a comfort to know we shall be together forever with the Lord. What a joy to be with Christ and meet again our brothers and sisters in Christ.
The contrast is so sad when I think of all I've known and loved who have died without Christ as their Saviour. Also, there are many I can picture now in my mind, you might be one of them and while still living, it's without Christ. It is painful just now while writing this to think of you. To know if you remain without Christ, then when I or you die we will eternally never meet again. All I can do is pray for you and plead with you, to be reconciled to God by faith in Christ Jesus before it's too late. Then I know we'll meet again to be together forever with the Lord.
