Thou hast forgotten the God of thy salvation

Thou hast forgotten the God of thy salvation

Isaiah 17 v 10

Mankind habitually forgets God their maker and creator. There is no place for God in people's hearts and lives at all. People's hearts are filled with various people and all the cares and pleasures of this life. All around people have forgotten God and put their trust in other people, money, learning and pleasure. These are the things people live for and they totally forget God. What a terrible mistake people make in doing this (Psalm 9 v 17). A life that leaves God out but is taken up with family, money, work, fashion and pleasure reaps God's righteous eternal punishment. So you need to remember God, the earlier the better but it's never too late. Cry to God in Christ for forgiveness for your forgetfulness of Him and all your other sins which are the result of that forgetfulness.

However, as a believer in Christ make sure you don't forget God in anyway at anytime. Remember nobody, nothing is more essential to you than God. As believers realising all the claims God has upon us, we need to keep God continually before us and live for His honour and glory. We as God's children through faith in Christ Jesus should be ashamed when we forget God. God knows that even His own people at times forget Him for He doesn't have the place in our hearts He should (Deuteronomy 6 v 12 and 8 v 11,14,19. Jeremiah 2 v 32).

One thing is certain, even as a believer you may forget God, but God will never forget you (Isaiah 49 v 15).
