They watched him
Mark 3 v 2
Jesus enemies were continually watching Him to see if there was something wrong they could accuse Him of. In Mark chapter 3 they are watching to see whether He would heal a man with a withered hand on the sabbath day. They felt if He did they could accuse Him of breaking the law of God about observing the sabbath day. However, Jesus, the Lord of the sabbath, has ordained that works of worship, necessity and mercy are permissible on the sabbath, so Jesus mercifully healed the man.
Do you realise as a believer in Christ that wherever you go, whatever you do, those who know you profess to trust in and follow Christ, are watching you! There is little the Christian does without the ungodly world watching them. All you say and do, your whole conduct is watched with a readiness to call you a hypocrite.
The late Duncan Matheson said to young men converted under his ministry:
"The people are not in the habit of reading the bible, but I tell you what they will read. They will read your life to see if you are really what you profess to be. Should they find your life inconsistent with your profession, the devil will give them an excuse to reject Christ."
Believer in Christ remember that the eyes of the ungodly world are upon you, and if you're not living as Christ requires, it will be quick to reject your Lord and Saviour. We as believers need the beauty of Jesus to be seen in our lives.
"Fill Thou my life, O Lord my God,
In every part with praise,
That my whole being may proclaim
Thy being and Thy ways."
