Have you fully followed the Lord as Caleb did?
- To follow the Lord fully involves believing in and trusting in his word. The other spies apart from Caleb and Joshua left God and his promises out, so unlike them so they could not defeat the enemy and possess the land.
- To follow the Lord fully means like Caleb to do this constantly, not in fits and starts. Caleb did this throughout his life.
- To follow the Lord fully means to do so sincerely from the heart. Caleb was prepared to follow God’s promises no matter what he was threatened with (stoning Numbers 14:10).
- To follow the Lord fully means every single part of our lives must be dedicated wholly and solely to the Lord. It is not what we want, but what the Lord wants in every part of our lives.
- To follow the Lord fully means that He must be the main person in our lives. It means we give him our entire being. Caleb’s life was centred upon serving God which we were originally created to do.
Caleb could fully follow the Lord because we had another spirit (numbers 14:24). Believers in Christ can fully follow the Lord by the enabling of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Caleb fully following the Lord was a blessing to his children and grandchildren after him (“his seed shall possess it” Numbers 14:24).
We will truly be a blessing to our family, friends and people in general if we fully follow the Lord. Like Caleb, God blesses all those who follow him fully.
