"Neither is there salvation in any other"
Acts 4 v 12
There is such a thing as the salvation of a sinner but if anyone is saved it will only be by Christ. He alone is able to save to the uttermost all those who come to God by Him. No other name but that of Christ has been given among men for the salvation of sinners.
- It is only salvation by Christ that maintains the character of God. Only through what Christ did can the mercy and justice of God be maintained. God can only be just and punish sin, yet merciful and pardon the sinner through the work of Christ.
- It is only salvation by Christ that maintains the law of God. The good and holy law of God must be upheld and Christ perfectly kept and received the penalty braking it deserves on behalf of all He saves.
- It is only salvation by Christ that has God's approval. No way of salvation can be valid if it isn't acceptable to God. It is God that we have sinned against and therefore only God can say if and how a sinner can be saved.
- It is only salvation by Christ that can save from eternal condemnation. We are all guilty sinners against God and only through Christ can we be saved from the penalty, power and ultimately the presence of sin. Only in the Lord Jesus Christ is there salvation in the fullest measure.
So, if Christ isn't your Saviour, there is no question about it, you shall be eternally lost. All who are saved, must be saved by God's grace through faith in Christ alone.
