Philippians 4v1-8.
God often reveals a lot of truth in not many verses. An example of this is the practical advice for Christians in the above passage.
- Steadfastness v1. - Stand fast in the Lord, that is don't let anything move you from Christ.
- Unity v2. - Be of the same mind in the Lord. Getting along with one another in Christ's church requires love, forgiveness, humility, submission and hard work.
- Joy v4. - Rejoice in the Lord. No matter our sorrow or affliction we can always rejoice in who the Lord is and what He has and will do for us.
- Gentleness v5. - Let your moderation be known to all men. Don't be aggressive but show restraint by being kind, reasonable and having control over one's temper.
- Don't Worry v6, 7. - Be careful for nothing, but take everything to God in prayer with thanksgiving. The result being God's peace keeping us from anxiety.
- Think Rightly v8. - Think on these things. Avoid watching or reading that which will produce unholy thoughts. Feed your mind with that which will produce good and holy thoughts.
