The eternal glory of the believer in Christ
God tells believers in Christ they shall eternally experience, "An inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven." Indeed, Jesus promises all who trust in Him for salvation that, "Where I am, there ye may be also" (John 14 v 3). We often want to know a little more than God has revealed in His word about heaven. However, God has revealed enough to make clear that, "The sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed in us." (Romans 8 v 18).
- There will be nothing that causes us pain in body or discomfort in body and soul (Revelation 21 v 4).
- Believers shall be forever with the Lord (1 Thessalonians 4 v 17).
- We will see Christ in all His glory and be like Him (1 John 3 v 2).
- It will be joyful, experiencing holy pleasure (Psalm 16 v 11, Matthew 25 v 21).
- We will have the ability to speak and sing. Moses and Elijah spoke with Christ long after they had died. In the book of Revelation were told of dead believers in heaven singing God's praises.
- We will recognize each other there. Loss of memory and ignorance would be a weakness but there will be no weakness there. Duncan Campbell rightly said, "I don't expect to be a greater fool then than I am now."
You see believer it will be more wonderful than you ever imagine, "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither hath it entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him" (1 Corinthians 2 v 9).
All of this is something that without Christ as your Saviour and therefore being unforgiven all your sins, you have no hope of experiencing at all. Sadly, Jesus would say to you, "Ye shall die in your sins; whither I go, ye cannot come." (John 8 v 21, 24).
